  • Each Hiragana letter represents particular syllable. Letter itself has no meaning.
  • Hiragana is used widely to form a sentence.

カタカナ
CHARACTER

  • Katakana is one of three character used in the Japanese language.
  • Katakana is a phonetic alphabet – each letter represents the sound of a syllable (like English ABC). Letter itself has no meaning.
  • Katakana and Hiragana represent exactly the same set of sounds.
  • Katakana is used mostly for foreign loan words.

Japanese Kanji

  • This is the introductory level of the Japanese and covers Kanji characters.
  • Practice reading these Kanji  and you can easily master the Kanji portion of the test.
